HOW IT WORKS

Our courses emphasize both hands-on and academic theory in order to ensure that your learning experience will provide you with the education and skills required to succeed in this exciting and competitive industry.

LIVE ONLINE TRAINING

You will learn by watching in-depth instructional videos along with participating in live online lectures and demonstrations with the course instructor. The lectures and demonstrations take place at the location of your choice via live, interactive, online video conference that allows you and your instructor to see, hear, and speak with each other similar to a traditional classroom. However, unlike a traditional classroom, when you miss a class due to absence or wants to review the content again, video conferencing recording and archiving tools can be used for playback in order to teach or reinforce a lesson.

It is important to emphasize that unlike most other online courses, our online courses are live. Our instructor-led online training is not a video feed from a recording, where you are unable to interact live with your instructor. If you are unable to learn and interact live with your instructor, then it is no different than watching a YouTube video or reading a DIY (do-it-yourself) article online.

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP

Upon successful completion of the live online course, you are able to sign up to participate in the hands-on workshop. We understand that everyone has important obligations throughout the day and that your time is very valuable. Therefore, we offer workshops on weekday evenings, weekday mornings, and the daytime on weekends. The workshop will conclude with a photo shoot to capture your work. You will also receive a personal web page to display your work.

ON-THE-JOB PLACEMENT PROGRAM

In addition to the workshops, students in any professional program may choose to participate in a 75-day on-the-job training (480 actual hours of training) at a full-service salon or spa.
WHAT TO EXPECT

We offer both professional beauty courses and personal beauty courses. The professional beauty courses are designed for students who want to start a career in the beauty industry. The personal beauty courses are designed for students who want to be their own beauty expert and stylist. Read the following to understand how they differ in reference to learning style and instructor-student interactions.

1. WORKSHOPS

Workshops are the same for both personal and professional courses. The class size is kept to no more than 12 students for optimal student learning and development. One-on-one support or tutoring is available from the instructor.

2. ONLINE CLASS SIZE

Professional courses - The class size is kept to no more than 12 students for optimal student learning and development.

Personal courses - Similar to that of a college class, the class size is much larger than the professional online courses.

3. ONLINE INSTRUCTOR-STUDENT INTERACTIONS

Professional Courses - You will be able to interact closely with the course instructor.  You will be able to see and speak with your course instructor. One-on-one support or tutoring is available from the instructor.

Personal Courses - You will be able to see and speak with the course instructor. However, due to the larger class size, we request that you raise your hands to speak or to be assisted.

4. ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROGRAM

In addition to the workshops, students in the Skin Esthetician and Nail Technician program may also participate in a 75-day on-the-job training (480 actual hours of training) at a full-service salon or spa.
